What is a Mortal Hero? 

        In Greystaff Legends, war is a brutal and ever-loyal companion. She tears at flesh, feasts on the foolish bravery of the young, and saps the strength of the mighty. Amid the din of battle, the greatest of heroes falter and die; their banners to be taken up by other hands. 

        The combat system in Greystaff Legends reflects the dangers of battle. For the vast majority of characters, the violent lives of war, adventure and fame are heroic - and tragically short. Many of you have played in game systems where a warrior can take a dozen arrows and shrug them off like a mild cold. If that is what you are looking for here, read no further.
